HOMER OWEN’S PERSONAL TESTIMONY

" It is with great joy that I share with you my own personal testimony. Ruby and I have 20 grandchildren and they are always asking Poppy, (me) to share stories about our lives. Ruby reminds them that life has not been boring living with me for 52 years. We have four sons and naturally four wonderful daughter in laws. God has been and continues to be very gracious to us.

I will endeavor to limit this testimony primarily to health related items. Way back in the 60’s we moved to the country with the purpose to be able to grow our own food and to raise our own meat. It was our desire to be healthy and we still have that same desire at this time in our lives. I am now 74 and Ruby is 73.

As you can well imagine we have tried many things along the way in this pursuit of having good health. The major life changing experience came in August of 1968 when we both had a life changing spiritual encounter with the great physician, Jesus Christ, himself. For the first time in our lives we realized that He had in fact bore our diseases along with our sins on the cross.

“He was wounded and crushed for our sins. He was beaten that we might have peace. He was whipped, and we were healed! All of us have strayed away like sheep. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the guilt and sins of us all.” Isaiah 53:5-6

How gracious our God is to all of us. May each of us today grasp just how much he truly loves us in that he was willing to die for each of us. Praise God he did not stay dead. The Holy Spirit went into the tomb where his dead body lay and quickened him with resurrection life. He lives forever now in the very presence of God on our behalf. Along with this passage out of Isaiah we can read another passage from Romans that we all need to grasp and endeavor to live in.

“The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as he raised Christ from the dead, he will give life to your mortal body by this same Spirit living within you…..For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children (sons) of God. Romans 8:11, 14.

It is hard for most of us to grasp this great love of God. This same Jesus who was more than willing to come and die for us is at this moment giving us life by His Spirit, both physically and spiritually. When we look at the everyday ministry of Jesus while he was here on the earth we will find that he spent a great deal of his time healing all that were sick and oppressed by the devil. His ministry for today is still the same. Glory!

I have seen many miracles over the past 40 years, first in our immediate family and then out in the public. It is our desire to see Him reach down and touch you out of his great love and concern for every area of your life.

I had smoked since I was 12 years old and by the time I was 34 my habit was 3 full packs of cigarettes each day. The Lord spoke to my heart one morning and told me that he had come to deliver me from this nasty addiction. I was instantly delivered and never again had a desire for a cigarette.

Food for the first time really tasted good and in about 2 years I had put on 50 pounds of excess weight. Over the years I tried many diets with little success. In the spring of 2008 I found myself weighing 303 pounds needing to desperately lose at least 80 pounds.

Ruby and I had spent 8 to 10 months each year in Israel since 2000 living among the Jewish people in a small town up in the hills of Samaria. In 2004 I became aware of the need for us to drink more water to keep us from being dehydrated. We discovered that Israel has some wonderful water hidden away that is extremely healthy.

In 2007 we began to import water from a spring in Jericho that is probably the healthiest water in the world. Coca Cola has a bottling plant in Jericho and they bottle the water for us. We call it Jacob’s Spring natural mineral water. Dr. Dick Couey, a local retired biology professor from Baylor University has performed a lot of tests on this water and he feels like us that this is probably the best water in the world.

I fasted 20 days in the spring of 2008 just drinking this water and after I had finished this fast I had Dr. Couey look at my blood under his high powered microscope. He was amazed at what he saw in my blood. Here is his statement that day.

“Homer, I have looked at hundreds and hundreds of slides of blood under my powerful microscope. I have never seen any blood that is as pure and clean and full of life as yours. Tell everyone you know to drink your excellent water. I have tested your water and find it to be the best that I have ever seen.”

Naturally I felt very good about this report from Dr. Couey but the simple fact was that I was still 80 pounds overweight. I was frustrated about my weight and really did not have much hope . BUT GOD! I love these two awesome words.

“But God, who is rich in mercy, and he loved us so very much, that even while we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s special favor that you have been saved and healed!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ, and we are seated with him in the heavenly realms – all because we are one with Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:4-6

A friend of mine here in Waco called to make a time for us to eat lunch together. When I picked him up he told me that we needed to go where he could get a salad because he was on a special diet where he was losing a pound a day. Wow! Sure I was interested in hearing about this plan where he told me that he was expecting to lose up to 40 pounds in a short 40 day period. He was on his 15th day and had lost 15 pounds. I was all ears – and eyes in looking at my friend who had slimed down that quickly.

Steve told me about Dr. Simmeon, the physician from England that discovered HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin) a hormone that is produced in the body of a pregnant woman. He discovered that this hormone is vital in the development of a baby. He spent 18 years in research with this hormone and discovered that it has many uses in the human body among which is weight loss. This all happened almost 50 years ago and it is used all over the world today in weight loss.

Dr. Simmeon had a weight loss clinic in Italy for over 20 years and worked with thousands of over weight folks in helping them finally get control of their weight. He believed that the HCG can literally reprogram the Hypothalamus gland. What is the Hypothalamus gland? It is said to be the master gland that is located in our brain and part of its function is to speak to our body about being either hungry or not.

Ruby and decided to give this HCG protocol a try. We checked in at the Doctors office and paid our $1,295 to get started. They gave us a physical and blood test of which I am sure is to help keep them covered by liability insurance from any mal practice suits. It is a shame that our FDA will not approve this awesome diet plan using HCG. They approve the use of HCG for other physical problems but not weight loss.

Dr. Simmeon made sure that no one drug company could get control of the manufacturing process for HCG and he wrote an excellent manual to be used by anyone doing his protocol. He did this without a copyright so that it is public domain. The HCG can be prescribed by any M.D. if they so chose to do so.

We discovered immediate results with the HCG protocol. The HCG is injected in your body using an insulin needle and we were amazed at how simple and easy this is to do. The ½ needle is not even felt. The wonderful news is that this 25 unit injection of HCG goes to work to dislodge the body fat so that it is burned up as fuel in our body. We are only eating 500 calories of food but our body is burning over 2,000 calories and this is how we lose a pound or more a day. Truly amazing and wonderful.

Part of what happened is that we discovered we were not hungry and our cravings for foods simply went away. Ruby only did the 21 day protocol and she lost 18 pounds while doing the program. She continued to lose after her 21 day program and today she weights what she weighted in the eight grade. The big plus is that she feels good with more energy.

I lost 40 pounds and will shortly do another 40 day protocol. Your body builds up an immunity to the HCG around 38 to 42 days and you have to wait for six weeks before you can do your second program. I had lost a few pounds when I fasted and so I have lost 50 pounds all together. Yes, I feel great and look pretty good. Ha! I am excited about getting the full 80 pounds off of my body.
